Winning Photo

After having this photo being tweeted by @CarlZeissLenses, I won our club’s yearly photo competition.

May with Zeiss Distagon T* 1.4/35mm

Just a photo of May taken with the new Zeiss Distagon 35mm.  Both are worth every penny!

Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 100mm f/2 Samples

I just figured out how to replicate photos into a specific gallery under the Gallery 2 software.  So check out my Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 100mm f/2 samples gallery.  I’ve been patiently waiting for Zeiss to release their new Distagon T 35mm F/1.4 ZF.2.  Too bad I can’t be a tester, like Lloyd Chambers!

Haven’t taken photos this year

I realized today that I haven’t taken any photos this year.  I blame it on living in the incredibly dull, boring, and dreary city known as Raleigh, NC.  That, plus screwing up my knee — I don’t feel like doing much walking.

Hopefully I can go on some great vacations this year.

Congratulations Zeiss on 120 years of lenses!

Carl Zeiss turns 120 years old this month.  While I only have one of their lenses, I’ll probably purchase them from now on.  Hopefully the rumors are true that they’re releasing some new lenses this year!

I’ve added pictures from Christmas 2009.  Thanks to medicine and science I was able to walk around a few days!

Amazing Lens

By Seth Buckley (sethbuckley.com) from Raleigh, NC on 1/10/2010
5out of 5

Pros: Consistent Output, Strong Construction, Durable, Beautiful Color, Bokeh, Rugged, Sharp Focus

Cons: Lens cap

Best Uses: Macro, Portraits

Describe Yourself: Photo Enthusiast

The colors, contrast, and sharpness make this one of the most amazing lenses you can buy.

The only thing that I would change is the lens cap which can be difficult to use; however this is only a minor quibble.

Zeiss is releasing new “.2″ models which are chipped and send the data to your body, which may be helpful if you’d rather not mess with “Non-CPU” lenses. I purchased this lens before they released these new models, and I’m certainly not bothered by this.

All in all, a fantastic product!
